I love this product. i actually purchased a few of these as Christmas gifts. I find it easy to use and great for opening DVD's or shrink wrapped products. I have used it to open boxes along with hard to open food packages.

I hate opening plastic bubble packages. Inevitably I end up damaging the product underneath....or myself in the process. I was very impressed with the Scotch Safe Cut Package Opener...it cut through hard plastic like it was butter!
I am saving this for Christmas morning!

I, like another reviewer of this product, am a perpetual klutz! This is a great tool for opening a product that has been "shoplift protected" by a type of plastic that seems to require a chainsaw to open otherwise!

After opening several different things with this Safe Cut Package Opener, I no longer feared cutting myself with the opener. It is truly safe (as long as you remember to retract the blade back into the opener when you are done using it.)

I have a small CD opener that you just slide across the top of the wrapped CD (or DVD). It works great, except it only opens the outer plastic wrap. The sticker seal along the top of the plastic case that is there for added "shoplift protection" is always still intact and the "tab" never works for me on these seals. I used the Safe Cut Package Opener to open a new CD and, "Wow - it works like a breeze!"

I got my Scotch Safe Cut Package Opener the same day I received a big fragile package in the mail. I used the new opener to get into my package, and it was awesome! It was very safe, it cut through the tape easily and quicky, and I have never unwrapped anything with so little hassle. Thanks Scotch!

The same day I recieved the cutter I got a package made of bubble wrap in envelope. I used the cutter to open the package,which I sometimes find difficult. It cut quite easily.Love it!

This package opener is great,especially for people who have difficulty holding things. The blade protection is wonderful, as is having a replaceable cartridgr available. I have an earlier model of this type opener which is not as easy to hold, and has no protection for the blade, so that I have to be careful where I store it.
With careful use, I can store it back in its original package to safely store it.

What a great product!,

Every once in a while a product comes along that is truly innovative and helpful. The Safe Cut Package Cutter is one of them. I've alsways struggled with clamshell packaging and usually get cut in the process of opening it. I bought my twins headphones for their birthday last week, and my husband commented "we'd better get out the bandages" because of the packaging. My son grabbed the Safe Cut Package Cutter and opened both packages easily. There weren't any ragged edges to be careful of, and it took less than 30 seconds to open each. This is a great tool and I will get another one to keep at work.

I wasn't as impressed with this product as I thought I would be. It works great to cut through packing tape. As far as cutting through the thick, plastic packages, I felt the blade was too short. I had to go over 2 and 3 times to open the packaging. It is very comfortable in my hand, though!

I used this product to open some blister packages, it was so quick and easy! No frustrations. next I used the same product to cut out some cookie cutter patterns for my class project, it was so fast and easy! I will get one for the classs & home. I am hooked!

This product is the best item I have found for opening any package, especially packages sealed with the heavy plastic. The opener fits good in the hand and the sharp blade slices through the heavy plastic as if it were saran wrap. It is a winner for my opinion.

I was sent a free Scotch Safe Cut Package Opener to review and I was very pleased with it!! It is so easy to use and is much safer than a pair of scissors or any other knife. The design of this cutter is very comfortable to hold and it slices through hard-to-open packages very easily. It is also great for cutting coupons. That is something I do a lot of, so this cutter will definitely be my first choice to use over a pair of scissors. I highly recommend this great cutter to everyone!!

this thing is so cool i have used it many time already and with the hoildays coming and all the grandkids it sure will be a time and patiants saver thanks scotch for something we have beeded for a long time and the safty feature on the retractable blade will be great for leaving it out as we unwrap!!!

This Safe Cutter is JUST THAT and more!!!

The Comfort grip handle makes it easy to hold and very comfortable , easy on the hands when doing long progects.

Have allways HATED utility knifes when cutting because to often I'm the one getting cut up!

NOT SO with the new Scotch brand Safe Cut Package Opener.

I have put it to the test for 3 weeks now opening everything in sight I could get my hands on .

It reallly does open blister pack items nicely and with ease.

I did expereance trouble when haveing to cut around any round blister portions of a package. It took me a least 3 to 4 tries.

HOWEVER THAT WAS NOT THE CASE when the packages were square as in batteries, toy packages and the like.

It would be great to see this same Safe Cut as is ,only with a round blade, for crafters that would be a plus!!
